How to Get Started
Getting started as an entrepreneur begins with noticing ideas, problems, and possibilities in everyday life. Entrepreneurs pay attention to what could work better and imagine new ways to help people, create value, or bring joy. Trying small ideas, learning from what happens, and staying curious are the first steps toward building something of your own. You do not need a big idea to start, just a willingness to explore and try.
Learning about entrepreneurship can start by noticing businesses around you, such as stores, apps, or services your family uses. Talking about who created them and why helps connect ideas to real life. Paying attention to what you enjoy creating helps you build early awareness of how ideas turn into action.
Create a pretend business using toys, crafts, drawings, or games. Decide what you are “selling,” who it is for, and why people might like it. Practice explaining your idea to a family member and listening to their feedback.
Help with a small family project like a garage sale, lemonade stand, or craft sale. Participate in school events by creating posters, organizing activities, or helping plan something fun. These experiences build confidence in sharing ideas and working with others.
