Who She Is:
Maggie Lok is a construction project manager and advocate for diversity in the construction industry who has built her career leading large commercial and infrastructure projects in the United States. After earning a degree in construction management, she worked her way through increasingly complex projects and became a visible voice for expanding opportunities for women and people of color in the trades and in construction leadership. She has spoken at industry conferences and worked with nonprofits focused on workforce development, drawing attention to the enormous talent gap in construction and the untapped potential of underrepresented communities to fill it.
Why She Matters:
Maggie Lok's career challenges the image many people have of what a construction manager is. In an industry that has historically been dominated by men, her visibility as a project leader and public advocate shows that construction management is a career open to anyone with the skills and the drive to pursue it. For young people who have never seen themselves reflected in construction leadership, her career is a direct signal that the field needs diverse voices, and that those voices are welcome. Her work on workforce development also highlights the genuine opportunity that exists for the next generation of construction professionals.
